Wilma Jean Hilton

May 11, 1926 — November 25, 2017

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother left us on November 25, 2017 while residing at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Murray, UT. She was born May 11, 1926 in Banning, CA to William Riley and Jennie Powell. She met her husband, Joseph Hilton while working for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. They were married July 3, 1948 in Salt Lake City, UT.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She taught her family compassion, honesty and love. She was always looking after elderly neighbors and friends. A good friend, Bishop Verlyn Thomas, commented that even though she wasn’t a member of the LDS church, she was the best Relief Society president he ever had.
She is survived by 4 sons; Jack (Nancy), Reid (Darl), Ty (Lisa), and Lynn (Daline); also by 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Brent, daughters-in-law, Daline, Geraldine (first wife of Jack, deceased); a granddaughter, Lori; a great-granddaughter, Makaela and a great-great-granddaughter, Reese.
A Memorial Service will be held December 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Cathedral, 231 E. 100 S., SLC. Interment will follow in the Columbarium at the same location. A gathering of family and friends will follow.  Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving service to Mom. Memories may be shared at www.memorialutah.com
