William Richmond

William Matthew Richmond, our beloved son, father, brother, grandson and friend passed away on May 7, 2013. Matthew was born May 15, 1978, in Salt Lake City to William Ernest Richmond and Dawn Tenney Richmond Nessl. He married Jordan Hanson on July 15, 2000 (later divorced). Matthew is the father of four beautiful and beloved children, Matthew Zion “Zion” (11), Ezekiel Orion “Zeke” (9), Eve Song “Eve” (7) and Elias Luther “Eli” (5). Matthew graduated from Highland High in 1996 where he played Varsity Football, Rugby, sang in the Madrigal Choir and was a student body officer. He received a B.A. Degree from the University of Utah in 2004 and enjoyed singing in the U of U a cappella choir. Matthew was extremely gifted and talented musically. He played the piano by ear, played the guitar and often n sang with his children. He had a most loving, kind heart but struggled with a troubled mind. He left us with so many memories of his happy, joyous personality. He leaves behind his children, mother and father, brother, Jared Richmond, step-father, Robert Nessl, and step-mother, Maria Concecicao Richmond, and his precious grandmother, LaRue Richmond, 5 other brothers and sisters and a multitude of dear friends. Special gratitude to Kristine Staley. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Raymond E. Richmond and Gordon H. Tenney, and grandmother, Mildred Patricia Tenney Dean. Matthew’s Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family may gather from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 E. 7800 So., Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Donations to assist the family with funeral expenses may be made in Matthew’s name through Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah 801-262-4631.
