William Keith Paskett

June 10, 1929 — June 4, 2019

Our hearts are broken at the passing of our Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, William Keith Paskett, but our sadness becomes joyful as we know he was welcomed home with loving arms by our Mother and his family. Dad was born in Oakley, Idaho, on June 10, 1929, to David M Paskett and Winifred Annie Keith. He was raised in Grouse Creek, Utah, and graduated from Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad with his brother, Dave, then served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53. He married the love of his life, Marian Edna Pyper, on October 18, 1952. Using the GI Bill, Dad attended trade school in Los Angeles, CA, where he learned electronics and was able with this skill to provide for his little family. He retired from the City of L.A. (California) as Senior Communications Electrician after 38 years.
Dad was a very kind man, enjoyed a good laugh and easily made friends. He never complained about anything or anyone. He learned to work hard and could fix and build anything. The bench where he worked repairing televisions and everything else is still at our Norwalk home. He loved ice cream and had a bowl of any flavor almost every night when we were younger. He was such a great example of selflessness, humility and gratitude to all around him.
Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his Savior and served him faithfully during his life with Mom by his side. Of all his callings, his favorite was as Bishop of the Norwalk 1st Ward and Cerritos 4th Ward, Cerritos California Stake, and the McGill Ward, Ely Nevada Stake. How much he loved them! When he and mom retired to the Legacy House in Bountiful, Utah, he didn’t worry about the cost of their care, as long as he could pay his tithing each month. And this he did.
Dad is survived by his children: Carol Heywood (Steve) of West Bountiful, Utah, Deborah Bryce (Edward) of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Edwin (Teresa) of Norwalk, California, and Russell (Joan) of Farmington, Utah.  He is also survived by his sister Jean Toyn (Richard) of Salt Lake City, Utah, his brother, John (BJ) from Syracuse, Utah, and his sister-in-law, Lola Pyper of La Palma, California. He is the grandfather to 19 children and great-grandfather to 31.  He loved to tease them all. He is preceded in death by his wife, mother and father, and brother, Dave.
We would like to thank all the staff at Legacy House, Bountiful. for their care and kindness towards our dad, and mother before her passing in 2018. Destiny, Jessica, Joni and others loved him like their own. Also, the staff at Tender Care Hospice. We also want to thank the Bountiful House Branch Presidency and Relief Society both past and present who ministered to both mom and dad throughout their stay there. They had a special relationship with each other. Dad, you and Mom and your goodness are embedded in our hearts forever. How much we love you and all that you taught us. God Be With You Till We Meet Again.
