William Jorgensen

September 15, 1942 — April 17, 2021

William LeRoy Jorgensen was born on September 15, 1942 in Afton Wyoming to Blaine and Delilah Jorgensen, the second of nine children. He married Leslie Carr in the Salt Lake City temple 56 years ago by President Monson, our previous prophet who was a family friend. They have 7 children, 27 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Bill is a creative soul and has been all his life. Among his many talents, he is an amazing artist. He loved doing sculptures, wood carvings, drawings, painting, jewelry making, poetry and several children’s books. Many of us are blessed to have his art work in our homes.
He had a deep love of the gospel and enjoyed studying the scriptures. He was always inviting people to discuss those things with him because he loved teaching. He had many opportunities to teach the gospel while on his mission to England and later as a ward missionary.
He received a Masters degree in education from Utah State University. He loved learning many things such as biology, health and the human body. He also loved politics, history, The constitution and freedom and served in the Vietnam war.
He enjoyed sharing what he learned with others and giving counsel, especially to his children. We all have many memories of talking with about life.
He battled kidney disease and cancer and died in his home on April 17, 2021 surrounded by his family.
We love this wonderful man who is our husband, father, brother and friend and will miss him terribly.
