William Dale Porter, age 78, died on October 3, 2017 in his beautiful home surrounded by family. He was born on October 26, 1938 in Escalante, Utah to Fay Porter and Elizabeth Carrie Gleave. He married Suzanne Hewitt on October 31, 1988.
Dale was very creative and artistic and everything he touched became beautiful. He designed the logo for Sunset Sports; was Advertising Manager for RC Willey; master of beautiful art. He was Water Master for Cottonwood Little Tanner Ditch and he excelled in remodeling and yard work.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Porter; Sister, Carol Warnik; Children: Thalo Porter, Shae (Tina) Porter, Marcus (Kris) Porter, Chris (David) Hall, Wendy (Curt) Condie, Matt (Annie) Freeman, and Melissa Thompson; Grandchildren: Conrad Porter, Wyatt Porter, Cameron Porter, Tawnie (Shane) Larsen, Spencer (Linnea) Hall, Megan Hall, Parker Hall, Emily Hall, Tyler (Miranda) Freeman, Devynn Johnson, Lilly Freeman, Henri Thompson, Hunter Thompson, and Vie Thompson; and Great-grandchildren: Jamie Larsen, Carly Larsen, Jett Larsen, Cade Larsen, CacheLynne Johnson and Kingstyn Jensen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Elizabeth Porter; Sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Arden Carter; Sister, LaDawn Porter; and brother-in-law, Reed Ercanbrack.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. A viewing will be held at the same location on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.Service Information
