William Branden Andersen

He was born August 23, 1937 as the second son to Enoch and Thelma Jensen Andersen, and the little brother to Gary. He married his childhood sweetheart, Lynda Stephens on July 26, 1957 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1958. They had seven daughters: Jodi (Pier) Calacino, Julie (Alan) Crockett, Kellie (Michael) Webster, Susan (Richard) Skillicorn, Sherri (Michael) Wright, Teresa (Kent) Burrell, and Darlene Platero.
He retired with the rank of captain after 26 years of service for the Salt Lake Fire Department. He loved coaching church and youth basketball teams for many years, influencing the lives of dozens of young men. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities. He was a diligent home teacher. His greatest love was his family; he was a proud husband and father. He made his 7 daughters, 35 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren each feel like they were his favorite. He would always remind them “I love you! Never forget it.” He is preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Zachary.
Visitation and funeral will be held at 12110 S. 1300 W. Riverton, UT. 84065. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6:00-8:00. Funeral will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM (visitation at 10:00). To send condolences to the family visit www.memorialutah.com.
