William “Bill” Andrew Funk was born on May 6, 1934 to George Weston Funk and Catherine Anderson, in Sterling, Utah. He returned home early Monday, January 20, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah as the result of a stroke. After serving in the Marine Corps he married Judith L. Ludwig on September 14, 1963 in the Manti Temple and had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He provided for his family by working at Alliant Tech (Hercules). He was an active member of the LDS Church, served as a home teacher, in the Cub and Boy Scout programs, and completed a service mission. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, teasing and spending time with grandchildren, friends, and family. He was greatly loved by all his family and friends and we will miss him dearly. We know that Bill had a joyous reunion with his parents, his son Andrew “Andy” Scott Funk, and his sister Betty Nieves who preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife Judy, sister Deanna Morandy, children: Karen (Blaine) Hawker, Marilee Mitchell, Mark (Leah) Funk, Janean (Adam) Johnson; grandchildren: Melissa (Devon), Justin, Josh (Aubrey), Leland, Nicole, Zachary, Jonathan, Lucille, Edmund, Adam Junior, and Luke; great grandson Owen, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Park Ward, 3665 South 6000 West in West Valley City. Viewings will be held in his honor on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, and one hour prior to services at the church.
