Wayne Love

July 16, 1929 — January 4, 2014

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away of natural causes on January 4, 2014 at the age of 84 surrounded by his family. He was born July 16, 1929 in Kaysville, Utah to Wendell Bruce and Thora-Betsy Love.
Wayne and Erma Moss Love exchanged wedding vows on September 9, 1950. Shortly after the wedding, Wayne joined the United States Army in December of the same year, serving proudly until December of 1952. Following his service in the military, he began his career at Utah Sand and Gravel before concluding his working life with his retirement from Kennecott Copper. Family was always a source of strength and throughout his life he worked tirelessly and made many sacrifices to ensure his family was provided for. In a testament to their love for each other and their family, Wayne and Erma were endowed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 29, 1979. The couple also had the privilege and joy to serve as missionaries in Raleigh, North Caroline from September 1999 through October 2000.
He enjoyed fishing, watching game shows, and sports with football and baseball being his favorites. Whenever possible, he loved watching his favorite teams the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He also had quite the sweet tooth and loved tootsie rolls and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary and sisters Norine and Elaine. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Erma Moss Love, as well as his brother Robert (Clareann), his children; Sherrie, Michael (Tammy), Joanne, David, Jeffrey (Stephanie), his eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on January 10, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on January 11, 2014 at 10:00 am with funeral service at 11:00 am at Orchard 10th Ward located at 3371 South 800 West, Bountiful, UT 84040.
