Wayne Gerald Layton

Wayne Gerald Layton passed away on January 25, 2019 at his home in Clinton. He was born on April 15, 1964 to Loyal Gerald Layton and Patricia Elizabeth Petrich in Ogden.
He grew up in Washington Terrace and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1982. He completed his course studies to become a Certified Journeyman Sheetmetal Worker. During that time, he competed in many national conferences and won several awards for his outstanding performance.
He worked for Superior Air Handling in Clearfield along side two of his brothers. He then went on to become an Instructor at the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College, OWATC in Ogden. His fellow students were able to receive national recognition for their accomplishments under his direction.
Wayne was a man of many hobbies. He especially loved to fly and ride on anything that could be found on land, sea or air. He was an avid RC fanatic and was a member of the Northern Utah Radio Controlled Aircraft Club.
He also loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, boating and going to Antelope Island to fly his gliders.
Wayne was a great friend and mentor to everyone he met. He not only knew how to fix anything, but he had an innate ability to teach others; especially with things involving electronics.
Wayne is survived by his mother; Pat Layton, brothers: Joseph (Robyn) Layton, Robin (Gaylene) Layton, and Roger Layton, sister; BethAnne Layton (Daniel Peterson) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loyal Layton, brother; Kevin Layton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West in Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the mortuary and again on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM prior to services. Interment will follow at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park. Services under the direction of Memorial Redwood Mortuary.
