Warren G Overson, age 90, joined his eternal companion on October 12, 2013. He passed away in Delta, Utah. He was born August 2, 1923 in Leamington, Utah to Lyman Overson and Harriet Alida Roberts. He married Margaret J Rosquist on August 4, 1950, they were later sealed in the LDS Temple. He enjoyed gardening, writing poems – some were published. He also enjoyed BYU football and basketball. He was quite a deer hunter. He coached Little League baseball for his sons. He was known as “The Candy Man” at the Harmon Senior Center where he had many friends that he loved. He was a man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was raised on a farm and learned how to work hard during The Great Depression. He joined the Navy in 1943 and saw action throughout the Pacific. After the war he went back to farming, and then went to work at Kennecott, where he retired as Acid Plant Forman.
He is survived by sons: Brent and Kent; daughters: Chris Zaloznik and Mary Overson and step-children: Linda (Dick) Garber, John Andrews and Jim Andrews; grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, step-son, Merrill Andrews, grandson, Christian Andrews, and great granddaughter, Chantelle Smith.
A viewing will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Parliament Park Ward, 3935 South 1500 West in West Valley, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow services at Redwood Memorial Park.
