Wallace N Worthen passed away peacefully Saturday morning in his Saint George home on April 27, 2024. Wally was born January 7, 1934 in Panguitch, Utah to Joseph and Aza Worthen. He had eight siblings. Wally graduated from Cyprus High School and then joined the Navy where he served in the Korean War. 

He married his best friend Donna Thompson on May 13, 1954; and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He spent most of his life in West Jordan raising his three children together with Donna. Wally retired from Kennecott Copper Mine after 30 years of dedicated work. He also did maintenance for Rasmussen Equipment and the LDS church in Salt Lake County. 

Wally took care of the love of his life until she passed. Wally was married to Donna for 55 ½ years.

Wally loved dogs, candy, and country music. He also loved the outdoors; like doing yard work and gardening. He enjoyed taking long rides on the weekends. And took pleasure in telling stories about his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Joseph and Aza Worthen; his brothers Jerry, Kenneth and David; and sisters Lucille, Myrtle and Ann. Wally is survived by his sisters Fern Lougy and Gean Martin and his children; Wayne (Lorraine), Shane, and Kimberlee (Wayne) Schindler; and 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

 

On Saturday May, 4th, The Funeral services will be held at Murray Memorial Estates located at 5850 South 900 East Murray, Utah 84121. A viewing will be held at the same location starting at 10:00 am followed by the Funeral at 11:00 am. The Burial will take place at Redwood Memorial Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road at 12:30 pm.
