W Allen Hicks

Allen Hicks, 84, joined his wife in heaven on November 23, 2017, passing away while sleeping, in his home in Salt Lake City, UT.
Born April 28, 1933, in Salt Lake City, to Willard George Hicks and Loedimue Fay Thompson. Married to Doris LaDean Nelson on June 30 1954 in Salt Lake City, UT, who preceded him in death in 2009.
Survived by his 5 children, Dan Hicks (Gloria), Dallis Hicks (Connie), Allena Jones (Randy), Angie Hughes (Steve), and Margo Ewing (Gene); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many long-time friends.
One of his most joyous periods in life, was his time in the band stand. He was a man of many skills. He worked with his hands a lot and built beautiful furniture. He loved his family and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017.
The viewing will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Center 3rd Ward, located at 1955 W 400 N, Salt Lake City, UT at 10:00 AM. Immediately following the viewing, there will be graveside services at Redwood Memorial, located at 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah
