Vivian Viola Fletcher Hadley

Vivian Viola Fletcher Hadley, age 95, passed away on February 26, 2022 in her home in Holladay, Utah. She was born July 29, 1926, near Paonia, Colorado to Beulah and Roy Fletcher on a fruit farm. She married her high school sweetheart, Clair J. Hadley, on June 28, 1945 while Clair was home on leave from the Navy. The couple attended Colorado State University where their oldest son, Michael Clair, was born. They moved to Montrose, Colorado where Clair J worked for the power company, and their other two children, Daniel Roy and Rhonda Elizabeth, were born.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Evelyn, and son Michael. She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Clair, son Daniel (Bev) of Billings Montana, and daughter Rhonda Pinkcard (L. Duane), and sister Earlana (Ron) Sims of Paonia, Colorado. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian was an accomplished musician: playing the viola in the school orchestra and singing with various chois and groups. She was a wonderful homemaker, with her family enjoying all that involved: cooking, growing a garden and canning fresh produce, sewing, knitting – from which many of her family and friends benefited. She belonged and was active in many community groups: including her sorority alumni association, Eastern Star, bridge clubs, and especially her church women’s activities.
Vivian’s memorial service will be held March 12 at 2pm at the Mt Olympus Presbyterian Church, 3280 East 3900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84124. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to a charity of your choice.
Interment will be in the family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery near Paonia, Colorado.
