Virginia “Shorty” McBride Roylance passed peacefully on 7/7/16 at Care Source Hospice Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Born to Marion and Nettie McBride on 9/13/21 in SLC. Virginia married Duane Roylance on 7/26/1942 and patiently and lovingly put up with his antics and inappropriate sense of humor until he passed in 2007.
Duane and Virginia raised 5 sons and 1 daughter. She was a fierce protector and extremely dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated member of St. John’s and Christ Lutheran Church. Virginia worked in the radiology department at Cottonwood Hospital for many years. She enjoyed camping with her family, travel around the world, and spending time in Torrey, UT. She had and uncanny ability to make shorts and compression stockings look good. Virginia loved to strike a conversation with anyone and everyone, especially handsome young men! To know her was to have a new best friend. She accepted people from all walks of life with open arms and without judgment. Despite her 5’ frame, she was a tough woman until the end. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her brother, Bob McBride, his wife Audrey, sons Michael, Roger, Chris, Tom and his wife Robin, and daughter Patricia Tavis and her husband Randy, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Clinton Roylance, and daughter-in-law Colleen.
Instead of flowers, Virginia would appreciate an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary (3115 East 7800 South) on 7/11/16 at 11:00 am. A celebration of Virginia’s life will be announced later.Service Information
