Virginia (Ginny) Tea

February 16, 1923 — May 22, 2015

Virginia (Ginny) Ruth Tea died May 22, 2015. Born February 16, 1923 to Herbert and Eva Rasmusen. Graduated from West High School. Married Daniel (Pete) Van Roosendaal; later divorced. Married James (Jim) Tea April 7, 1962. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she taught Primary for 20 years and served on the Relief Society Board. Virginia worked at the Forest Dale Golf Course for 12 years and loved to play golf. Also worked at Olympus High School as assistant manager of the school lunch program for 13 years.
Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. The Tuesday morning Bible study group was very special in her life. She loved the special ladies in the group. After Jim died she joined the Special Interest Group of the Olympus 8th Ward and loved her many friends there.
A great part of her life was spent being a caregiver to relatives and friends. Virginia believed that prayer and a sense of humor could make most things possible.
She is survived by her son Dennis Van Roosendaal, two grandsons, Blake (Lana) and Mark (Emily), Pamela Tea. Former daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, spouse, 9 brothers and sisters and a step-son.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, 11:00 am at the Olympus 8th Ward, 4500 South 2700 East. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the service.
