Virginia “Gie” E. Tidwell

Gie Tidwell “Virginia E. Tidwell”, age 58, passed away on April 18, 2020 in Ogden, Utah. She was born on April 28, 1961 in Manila, Philippines to Raymundo Bendicio Estores and Trinidad Adimos. She married Jeff Tidwell on November 25, 2007. Gie graduated high school two years early and was one of the top achievers in her class. She received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, a master’s degree in business, and then attended law school. Gie helped her family (siblings, nephews, and nieces) get an education. At the age of 13, Gie was forced to raise her siblings, acting as both a mother and father figure. She served a mission in Baguio (1985-1987). She worked in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints law office in the Philippines doing property acquisitions for 36 different countries. She later moved to the US where she married Jeff and opened her own business in Las Vegas caring for patients in a group home setting. Gie’s hobbies were reading, singing, cooking, and taking photos for memories.
Gie is survived by her husband Jeff Tidwell, her siblings in the Philippines; Rainier, Vina, Ramil, Vanessa, Heidi, Jean, Hazel, Helen, Henry, Hilda, Melca, Mirasol, and Monisa. Children Judith, Justin, and one grandchild Vi Claire.
Gie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Rodney and Randy.
