Violet Drase
December 27, 1930 — March 18, 2018
Violet Drase passed away peacefully March 18, 2018 surrounded by her dear family, while residing at Legacy House of Taylorsville in Utah.
Violet was born December 27,1930, town of Rolapp, Carbon county Utah to parents Melvin and Opal Higginson. She was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church November 9, 1941. Violet married her husband of 59 years, Kenneth F Drase, October 23, 1948. When Violet graduated from high school, she went to live with her aunt in California and through a cousin, she met Kenneth while he was serving in the Navy. After completing his years of service, he returned to Utah to marry her. From there, they moved to Chicago where they raised four children. She worked many years as a property manager. Violet was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed many talents and hobbies; painting, drawing and collecting antiques. She loved to have dinner parties for family and friends, and the holidays were her favorite.
In later years, Violet suffered a stroke that left her somewhat disabled, but with time and the wonderful care from her husband, she managed to get back that spirit for life. With his ability to no longer care for Violet due to his health, he made the brave decision to bring her home to Utah, where she would be with her family. Violet lived her life to the fullest bringing love and laughter to everyone she’s met. She has touched our hearts with her thoughtfulness, love and spirit.
