Our beloved son, brother, uncle and best friend to many has passed into the arms of God.
Born on January 25th, 1957 to Faustino and Sarah M Gutierrez. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah M Gutierrez. He is survived by his father, Faustino “Joe, sister Fina, brother in law Leon, Nieces JoAnn (Aaron), Sara, and Kandice. His numerous family members that include his Auntie Jenny and many cousins along with his church family and his best friend, Andy.
Vince graduated from West High School with being top in his class. He went into television with KUTV Channel 2 News as part camera man and Master Control. He entered into the United States Air Force 1980-1992. When he came back home, he worked for NAC, and eventually went back to his 2 News family for a few years.
He loved to read, learn new things, help and serve others and many people in the community. He found Sacred Light of Christ Church in 1995 where he could call home with God and his church family. Vince always had a love for music and singing from being with choral in Jr High, High School, on to the Military and into his church.
Vince was and is a truly wonderful loving and giving soul. He loved people and everyone he met. He always wanted to make sure everyone else was ok. A bright light for all with his smile, hug, humor and laugh. He was happy with helping, serving, and giving to others and the less fortunate when he had very little himself, but, he always knew he had enough. He was also very courageous while fighting stage 4 lymphoma and winning the battle to be a cancer survivor.
Vinny, we love you sweetie!
As you know, Vince loved nothing more than the gathering of people, family, friends, and food with a finishing touch of sharing stories, memories and lots of laughter. There will be a potluck luncheon after the service in the basement of the church. Please bring one of Vince’s favorites dishes or a dish of your choice to share.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, April 16th, 1:00pm at Sacred Light of Christ Church 823 South 600 East SLC, Utah.
