Victoria E. Ponder

October 5, 1935 — August 18, 2024

Victoria E. Ponder (Vicky) was born on October 5, 1935, in Price, Utah, to Howard W. Browne Sr. and Margurite Shepard Browne. She grew up in Salt Lake City, attended school there, and graduated from West High School before going on to college. Victoria pursued a career in the healthcare industry, starting as a CNA at LDS Hospital. She later moved to San Francisco, California, to be closer to her brother and sister and continued her work in healthcare. She eventually retired from California Pacific Medical Center, where she served for many years as a Unit Coordinator for the ICU/CCU units. After retiring, she returned to Salt Lake City to be near her family. Vicky spent the remainder of her life doing what she loved most: tending to her home and garden. She took great pride in her immaculate yard, showcasing a wide variety of flowers, each beautiful in her eyes. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, which she had attended since childhood.

Victoria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Howard W. Browne Sr. and Margurite Browne, her brothers Howard W. Browne Jr. and Charles G. Browne, and her sister Nelda K. Browne Farley. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors who were like family to her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her favorite poem was Footprints in the Sand, and she left her own lasting footprint on all of our hearts. Now, she is at peace in her garden.
