Proceeded in death by her husband John, of 58 years, her parents Joseph and Marguerite Peterson, and her sister, Bonnie.
Mom was born in Eureka, Utah, and was the youngest of three girls. She was proud to be from a small town and cherished the memories from her childhood. Her parents then moved to Salt Lake City where she attended West High School. She met Dad at a Church dance and knew right then that he was different. They danced the night away and one of Mom's fondest memories was singing "Blue Moon" on the car ride home. They were soon married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 11, 1966.
Mom said her greatest accomplishment with Dad was having their four kids. Mindi (Dave) Baumann, Trent (Mindy) Worthen, Jason (Stacee) Worthen, Marci (Kenny) Reed. Mom said she wouldn't trade anything in the world for her family. She was a proud grandma and great-grandmother.
Mom was a gifted florist and master of making a house a home. She was blessed with the power of discernment and we all valued her advice and insight. She loved to travel and every day she went on a trip, she started the countdown to her next and never wanted them to end. She was creative in making memories and experiences on a very limited budget. She was an amazing cook.
Her number one focus was taking care of her family while she juggled many jobs to provide for her children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served humbly in many different church callings. Mom was driven and the backbone of our home in every way. She instilled a strong work ethic and we all inherited her sometimes obsessive love for cleanliness and order. She taught us respect and the joy that comes from generosity.
We will dearly miss her never-ending commitment, her laugh, her loyalty, and her love of family.
