Vicki Rae New Bennion

February 27, 1954 — February 11, 2021

Vicki Rae New Bennion passed away peacefully at her home on February 11, 2021, mercifully released from the debilitating effects of pulmonary fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Vicki was born February 27, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Ray and Mary (Cooke) New.  She grew up and attended school in Norwood, Ohio.  In 1972, she and her parents joined the LDS Church.  She graduated from Ricks College in 1974 and attended two years at BYU studying early childhood education.  While a student at BYU, she met Calvin Bennion.  She and Cal were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1976.
Vicki worked for many years as an aid for the special needs students in the Jordan School District.  She had great empathy and compassion for these children.
She was a sincere and loving minister to many who needed to talk or shoulder to cry on.
She humbly served in many volunteer positions in her church and community.  She had a sharp mind and an uncanny knack for remembering names, birthdates, and phone numbers.
Vicki made it a life challenge to research holistic and natural remedy solutions, many of which alleviated her own suffering.  She was never shy about sharing this information with others.
In recent years, Vicki created several Facebook groups that brought together many members of her extended family, helping them to become familiar with their ancestry and with each other.  So many are there to gratefully greet her as she crosses into the next life.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Cal; five children, Rebecka (Bryon) Spears, Brian (Jennifer) Bennion, Bethanie (Ryan) Rasmussen, Rachel Bennion, and Robert (Sarah) Bennion.  Her thirteen grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them dearly:
