Vicki Lorraine Wentz Lambert

August 21, 1948 — June 17, 2022

Vicki Lambert, 1948 – 2022
Vicki Lorraine Wentz Lambert passed away peacefully on June 17, 2022 in South Jordan, Utah. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, teacher and friend who will be greatly missed by all who know her.
Vicki was born August 21,1948 to Vern Wentz and Evelyn Gledhill and grew up in Orem where she had a happy childhood, adored by her parents and three brothers.
During her youth, Vicki diligently practiced the piano and became skilled at a young age, which proved to be a life-long blessing as she served countless others with her musical talent.
Vicki’s life changed forever when she married Kent Lambert on December 18, 1970. Vicki and Kent were a dynamic duo and had a very happy marriage. Their role together as parents of seven children brought them great joy. Vicki and Kent instilled in their family a love of music and life-long learning. They taught their children to work hard, serve others, and express gratitude. Yet Kent and Vicki’s most influential calling in life was showing their children how to love and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In her professional life, Vicki was an elementary school teacher. She spent 25 years of her career at Sprucewood Elementary in Sandy, teaching 4th grade. Known to students and colleagues as the spunky “Mrs. Lambert”, she put her whole heart into serving her students, and was greatly loved in return.
Although Vicki had some significant challenges, she endured them with patience and grace. After Kent was diagnosed with cancer, she was a devoted caretaker for three years until his battle ended in 2005. For more than 17 years without her companion, Vicki bravely marched on through life with her winning smile, continuing to love and serve those around her. In 2011, Vicki was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought her illness valiantly. Vicki was so grateful to be cheered on through her challenges by family, friends from East Millcreek and Cameo Park, Sprucewood colleagues, and all the people who loved her so much.
Vicki was blessed to be the grandmother of 29! She was very often arranging sleepovers or outings which always involved several reading sessions of her favorite picture books, backyard games, plenty of candy, and dramatic recitations of the classic bedtime stories.
As her health declined with the gradual development of dementia, Vicki lived under the care of her daughter Holly for more than two years followed by nine months in a memory care facility. She passed away quietly in the early hours of the morning after a tender visit by all of her children.
Vicki is preceded in death by her husband Kent Lambert, her parents Vern and Evelyn Wentz, and her two older brothers, Craig and Trent. She is survived by her brother Stuart and her seven children Matthew (Elizabeth), Amy, Andrew (Robin), Dan (Andrea), Aaron (Kira), Nate, and Holly Davies (Chris). Vicki is also survived by 29 grandchildren whom she loves dearly.
