Vesta Anthony

June 27, 1931 — March 26, 2014

“If you’re reading this, a new journey for me has begun”
Our beautiful wife, mother and grandma ‘Angel’, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2014.
Vesta was born June 27, 1931, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Walter and Nell Leavitt Granger, the 1st of 8 children, having six sisters and one brother. She married Pharon J. Prescott in 1949 and had four children. Upon Pharon’s passing in 1969, she married Robert ‘Bob’ E. Anthony. He has been a loving and devoted man who has unselfishly raised her four children as his own. As their love for each other grew, they were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She had a positive zest for life, and touched the lives of all who knew her with unconditional love and unselfishness. To know her was to love her. She was part of a musical family and sang with her mom and sisters for over 50 years, bringing happiness to others. She was an astute business woman her entire life, owning several different businesses, Star Lunch Cafés, Grandma’s Health Food, Player’s, PJ’s and Olympic Club. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was working side-by-side daily with her children. She was known for her loving, giving nature and was dedicated to her family.
She leaves behind her husband, Bob; children Teri Prescott, Vicki Collard (Larry), and Shane Prescott (Gypsy); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, 5 sisters, Ivan ‘Ike’ Granger, Jeri Meyer, Claire Mineer, LaNita ‘Pete’ Brown, Mert Gertino, Judy Bailey, and special sister Ann Granger. She was preceded in death by daughter, Gay Lynn Prescott; Parents; and Sister Georgia Chorn.
Funeral services will be Saturday April 5, 2014 at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S 900 E, Murray, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held April 4, 2014 Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Murray location. Burial immediately following the services at Francis Cemetery, Summit County, Utah. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to The Good Shepherd nurses and aids for the kind and loving care they gave aiding Bob and Teri in mom’s care.
