Vern Savage, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 15th 2014. He was born the sixth of seven children on June 13, 1922 in Declo, Idaho to Joseph and Bertha Savage. He spent his life working and raising a family in Pocatello, Idaho; Ely, Nevada; and West Valley City, Utah. After a year at Idaho State College, Vern Joined the US Air Force and served through the end of WW2. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, camping and just being with his family.
Vern is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bernice Sylvester Savage. He is also survived by children Diane Pierce, Tim (Kelli) Savage, Ron (Karen) Jensen, Susan (Creighton) Belt, Vern (Patty) Savage, Melody Pink, Burke (Mona) Bradley, Karen (Dee) Petersen, daughter-in-law Carolyn Bradley, 32 Grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith and Joseph; sisters Estella, Ora, Wanda, Lile, and Winona; daughter Valarie Phillips; granddaughter Mia Phillips, stepson Jon Bradley, stepson Mike Whitworth, grandson David Bradley, son-in-law Mac Pink.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Redwood Memorial 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
