Verla Durney Taylor

February 10, 1934 — July 21, 2022

Verla Durney Taylor passed away on July 21, 2022 in West Jordan at the age of 88. She was born on February 10, 1934 in St. Anthony, Idaho to John Leroy Durney and Leretta May Anderson. She married her love of her life on May 31, 1957, Daniel Thomas Taylor, in the Salt Lake City Temple. She was a wonderful caring mother of 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She served faithfully in her various church callings with many years of serving in the Jordan River Temple.  She earned a district Award of Merit for serving in the scouting program for many years.
She worked hard teaching her children canning, gardening, baking/cooking, and her love for sewing/quilting and helping her family.
She served with Daniel Thomas Taylor in Birmingham England, Kenai Alaska, and 2 local service missions at the State Penitentiary and the Employment Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Her last years at Sunridge she enjoyed all the friends she made and brought joy and happiness to those she met.
She is survived by her 6 children Ann Verla Taylor, David Clay Taylor, Liz Taylor Clark, Virginia Taylor Clark, John Ancel Taylor, Danette Taylor Brewster, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Daniel Thomas Taylor and her parents.
An evening viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3045 Bernina Drive in Taylorsville, Utah. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27th at 11:00AM at the same location.
Interment will be held at Camp Williams Utah Veteran’s Cemetery.
