Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Verla Berry Crawford, 86, of Riverton Utah, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at home as was her wish.
Born Nov. 26, 1935 to Verda Elizabeth Smith and Arthur Larsen (later divorced) in Spanish Fork, Utah. Verda later married Cloyd Beck Berry who was happy to become father to Verla. She was sealed to her sweetheart, Lloyd Crawford on Dec. 17, 1953 in the St. George Temple.
Verla is survived by her children, Lynda Donio, Carolyn Lyon, Mary Crawford, and Annette and Brian Wright; 35 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, her brother Milo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Donald and David, sisters Mary Lou and Lola, Roger Donio and Eric Sturgeon.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Verla faithfully served as Primary President, Stake Primary President, Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, and many other callings within these auxiliaries.
She loved to act and sing. Fortunately she had a beautiful singing voice and blessed many lives by sharing this talent. She had a clever, creative mind and enlisted her husband and children in turning her visions into art for various activities. She was always so very excited to see her ideas turn into reality.
Verla was a baby whisperer and lover of all children. Great fun for her was observing and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. And they adored Grams!
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Memorial Redwood Mortuary. A private family viewing will be held prior to services.
