Venice Woodson, age 91, passed away January 11, 2019. She was born July 24, 1927 to Samuel and Iola Craghead in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Venice graduated from Granite High School and attended LDS Business College. She worked at the Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah as a “messenger” girl, then in the administration office where she was cleared for decoding and relaying messages from American ships during WWII. She also worked for the State of Utah and Friendship Manor.
She married Willmer Elmer Taylor on December 30, 1949. They later divorced. She married William Woodson in November 1981. She was widowed on May 31, 1985.
She loved watching the Jazz games on TV, playing games, going on trips and reading. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by daughters: Christie Burnham, Caylynn Hardy, Nanette (Kory) Quinn; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Arlen (Sherril) Craghead; and sister, Karen (Dana) Kneeland. Preceded in death by son, Craig Taylor; grandchildren: Amanda Fridleifson and Matthew Burnham.
