Vaughn England Dansie

October 23, 1927 — October 12, 2019

Vaughn England Dansie, age 9I, passed away at his home on October 12,2019 in Midvale, Utah. He was bom on October 23, 1927 to Rulon and Beatrice Smith Dansie in Riverton, Utah. He married Beverly Rose Teakle on July 7, 1948.
Vaughn was bom in the family home and was number four of ten children. He talked of herding the cows two miles down the road to the canal and back when he was only eight years old. He graduated from Jordan high School and went to work at the Murray Smelter where the IMC Hospital and Costco are now. He liked to brag about climbing to the top of the stacks when he was nineteen. He said it scared the crap out of him. One night, he and a friend went to the State fairgrounds to the big dance . Clear across the dance floor his eye caught two cute girls. There he found his life’s love and dance partner.
They started their family in Salt Lake living with Grandma and Grandpa Teakle. In 1951 they bought the property they live on now. First they converted the chicken coop into their home where they had all five of us children. In 1960 they built their current house on top of the basement house located on the front property.
Dad worked at Kennecott Copper for 30 years and during that time worked at the Smelter and ran a transport company to and from the Smelter. Then built his own cement contracting business. He always had at least two jobs and yet he always made time to have fun with us children.
Dad’s greatest loves were his family, being in the mountains, skiing, water skiing, boating, swimming, riding his 4 wheelers, camping, riding his horses, sitting around the fire and roasting hot dogs, playing Rook, going to Wendover to play 2I, driving his tractor, building sheds, watching Dr. Who, drinking coffee with his buddies, and spending time with family and friends. The last couple of years he said that as long as he could use his thumb to push the throttle, he could still be free and ride his 4 wheeler and I would rather be worn out than rusted out.
Vaughn is survived by his wife; children Mike, Bonnie (Ken) Jackson, Richard (Patricia), Ronald (Debbie), Jay (Christy); sister Barbara Beck; brothers Merlin and Lee; 36 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 3 and half great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marion, Darrell, Loran, George Dansie; and sister Joyce Beck.
