Valerie Colemere

Valerie Colemere passed away on August 7, 2020 in West Jordan, Utah at the age of 58. She was born on April 2, 1962 in Salt Lake City to Ralph and Minerva Colemere.
Val loved family camping trips, fishing with her dad, cola slurpees, KFC chicken and vanilla ice cream. She was an amazing snow skier and won several Special Olympic awards. She loved going on outings with Camp Kostopulos, going to basketball games with her brother, Buzz, and going to football games with her sister, Suzanne, and her niece, Alex, or her nephew, Jeff, and his family. She also loved family bowling outings and she could beat everyone that she bowled against. She was an avid University of Utah fan and Utah Jazz fan. Her favorite player was John Stockton.
She is survived by sisters – Maxine Hixon, Audrey Wells, LaRae Piper, Judy McAllister, Suzanne Colemere; brothers – Kay Hunt, Buzz Hunt, Jay Colemere, John Colemere; many special nieces and nephews including Alex Colemere, who grew up with Val and the two were more like sisters to each other.
She is preceded in death by her father – Ralph J Colemere; mother – Minerva K Colemere; brother-in-law – John Hixon; great-nephew – Adam Hunt.
Valerie’s family would like to thank the people at GOAL Home where she has lived the past 4 years. Extra special thanks to Hanna and Bradley for the special care they provided to Valerie, especially during the last few months.
Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
