Valena Jones Klemm returned to her Heavenly Father on Oct 20, 2018. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Valena was born on December 27, 1922 to Samuel and Etta Jones, in Goshen, Utah. She graduated from Springville High School and later attended BYU. There, she graduated with a degree in drama and a minor in English. She worked as a school teacher for 32 years and had a great gift in her ability to teach young children to read proficiently. Valena married Warner Klemm in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 26, 1954. They had 58 happy years together and became the parents of 3 rambunctious boys. Warner passed away July 16, 2012.
Valena served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in her service to her fellow man and her Savior, Jesus Christ including a mission to Arizona. She later served with her husband Warner in the Albany, New York Mission doing microfilming of early records. She had a strong testimony of the reality of her Savior Jesus Christ and lived her life accordingly.
She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed her friendships there. Valena was a natural friend and maintained many of those relationships over decades. Her greatest joy was being with family and friends and spoiling her grandchildren.
Valena was preceded in death by her husband Warner. She is survived by her sons Sam (Anne), Val (Sue) and Karl (Cindi); their spouses and numerous grandchildren.
