Valdee “Val” Hincks
February 25, 1939 — February 18, 2018
Dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle Valdee (Val) Glenn Hincks, age 78, passed away on February 18, 2018 at ‘Cascades at Riverwalk’ in Midvale.
Born February 25, 1939, in Sandpoint, Idaho a son of Francis Glenn and Cynthia Wilkes Hincks. Married Margaret Joan Christopherson November 25, 1960 who passed away on August 25, 1989 after battling cancer in which Val was by her side day and night. Later married Terri Korinn McAllister June 21, 1997.
Val worked as a superintendent in charge of interior completion for Skaggs Drug Stores for many years traveling throughout the western United States. Later Val worked for Salt Lake County as a heavy equipment operator where he retired in 2002. He worked hard all of his life both in work and play. Val loved camping and fishing where he spent many hours with family and friends. He was a devoted family man who loved being a grandpa with his whole heart. His great grandchildren will miss visiting him where they always received a special treat. We will all miss his feisty sense of humor and quick wit.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Terri of Midvale, Utah; son and daughters Gary (Leah) Hincks, RaeLee (Daniel) Elmer, and Barbie (Robert) Brown; seven grandchildren Jenniffer (Joseph) Green, Jessica (Gregory) Stolworthy, John (Brittany) Elmer, Josiah Glenn Elmer, Jody Elmer, Garrett Brown, and Julia Elmer; seven great grandchildren Michael Green, Alison Green, Carter Elmer, Lucy Stolworthy, Landon Stolworthy, Harper Elmer, Samuel Green, and soon to be eight with Ashley Joan Green due in June. Also surviving is his brother Gordon Hincks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3rd, 2:00 pm at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights. The viewing will occur from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care rendered in Val’s behalf by the staff of Cascades at Riverwalk in Midvale and Envision Hospice.Service Information
