Vaida Mabus, age 96, died on September 16 2020, in West Jordan, Utah.
She was born on October 22 1923, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Almer and Marvilla Thompson.
She married Lorrin Charles Mabus in 1946.
Vaida was very well known and loved in her neighborhood, where she enjoyed walking every day. This included delivering her neighbors mail and taking in their trash cans. She spent time doing sudoku, watching Family Feud, people watching, drinking Pepsi, and growing tomatoes. She was kept company by her cat Max, whom she adored.
She is survived by her brother Larry(Cheryl) Thomspon, sister Sharon Jensen, daughter Lorrilla Walthall, son Reml(Debbie) Mabus, several nieces and nephews, and two special grandchildren Kamber and Kolby Walthall.
She is preceded in death by her son Devynn Mabus, her husband Lorrin Charles Mabus, her parents Almer and Marvilla Thompson. Her siblings Lamar, Ray, and Venice Thompson.
Graveside services will be held on September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park (Camp Williams located at 17111 South 1700 W, Bluffdale, UT 84065.
