Trottier “Tia” Tamate Lio

April 10, 1971 — July 19, 2020

Trottier Tamate Lio, “Tia” of Kearns, passed away on the evening of July 19th, 2020. Accompanied by his loving family in spirit, he departed from this earth to rejoin his parents, Senetenari Peapea Lio and Felila Kanona Lio, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sisters, LeeAnn Lio, and Emily (Daniel) Tapusoa, nephew Daniel (Nancy) Tapusoa, and niece Angelena Tapusoa.
Tia was born to Senetenari and Felila Lio on April 10, 1971, in Auckland, New Zealand. The oldest of three children, Tia was a loving older brother who always sought to care for his sisters.
Tia will be remembered by his family and friends for his charity, humility, and love. Not a day went by that Tia did not reach out to someone he cared about to check in on them and see how they were doing. Regardless of the circumstances, he magnified his duty as a son, brother, uncle, and cousin to the best of his ability without complaining. He loved to bring smiles to the faces of his nieces and nephews by always having a basket of treats to share with them. Tia truly understood the power of bringing joy to someone’s day and did everything he could to make sure everyone felt included and important. Tia taught those around him the importance of following Elder Uchtdorf’s counsel to “lift where [we] stand” at all times.
The graveside service for the family will be held on Monday, July 27th, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT, 84123 with interment to follow at the same site.
