Tresau Ehlenberger Winterroth

November 11, 1932 — November 10, 2019

Tresau Ehlenberger Winterroth died on November 10, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the day before her 87th birthday.  Tresau was born to Emmanuel and Maria (Walter) Ehlenberger on November 11, 1932 in Vancouver, Washington, and was the youngest of five children. She attended Evergreen Elementary School, Peter S. Ogden Junior High School, and Evergreen High School where she graduated as the valedictorian.
After graduation, Tresau worked for Alcoa in Vancouver where she met her husband, Duane Winterroth.  They married on April 20, 1956 and were married for 52 years before he died in 2008. After working at Alcoa, Tresau was the administrative assistant to the President of the Portland Union Stockyards before moving her family to Salt Lake City in 1968.  She then worked as the administrative assistant to the Executive Secretary of the Utah Education Association until she retired in 1994.  After she retired, she and Duane moved to Ilwaco, Washington, where she was able to fulfill her dream of living at the beach.  They lived at Safari Association of Ilwaco where our family spent many happy summer vacations.  The only things Tresau loved more than spending time with her family were Chinese food, raspberry wine, coffee, donuts, and crossword puzzles.
Tresau is survived by her children Duane Jr. (Suzanne McNeil) of Boise, Idaho; Lisa (Jeff) Jensen of Holladay, Utah; Todd (Jennifer) of Sandy, Utah, and grandchildren, Jen (Jeremy) Voros, Scott (Laura) Vetterman, Duane Winterroth III, Alex Jensen, and Erik Jensen.  She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Fred, Helena, and Arthur Voros, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Tresau was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Emmanuel and Jacob, and sisters, Evelyn and Freda.
Special thanks to the staff at Cottonwood Creek Assisted Living for their loving care of Tresau during her final years.  Thank you to the 14th floor staff at Intermountain Medical Center, the team at Highland Care Center, and Envision Home Health & Hospice for their incredible support to Tresau and our family in her final days.
A private service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Vancouver, Washington.
