Tony Mirabella passed from our lives on September 13, 2014 after a two year battle with cancer. He was our “rock” and will be deeply missed. Tony will be remembered as a hardworking, honest and dedicated man. He was born Dec 5th, 1940 to Tony Sr. and Ellenroze Mirabella, he grew up in Magna, Utah attending Cyprus High School and graduating from the University of Utah. He was a member of the Utah Air National Guard. Married his high school sweetheart Illene Fuller on April 23, 1965. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, Joseph and Michael.
Tony retired from accounting after 36 years of service with Kennecott/Rio Tinto, where he made many lifelong friends; he also worked for The Utah State Library, Dept. of Heritage and Arts and volunteered with the Master Gardener Program. Most of all Tony was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed wood working, cars, gardening and traveling.
Tony leaves behind his wife Illene, sons Joe and Mike, sister Muggsie (Steve) Jones, brother Ed (Annetta) Mirabella, and four nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents. At Tony’s request, no memorial service will be held, but please join us at open house in a celebration of his life on Saturday, Sept 27th from 12:pm to 2:pm at Heritage Gardens 2050 Creek Rd., Sandy, Utah.
