Thornley Dean King

Thornley Dean King, age 80, passed away on July 12, 2020, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He was born on February 10, 1940 in Murray, Utah to William LaVaughn King Sr. and Ada Irene Bess King. He married Sharrone Renee Poulsen on July 24, 1974. He was an accomplished drag racer in his younger years, setting many records and winning many awards. He was a skilled mechanic and welder, he enjoyed working on cars and trucks, especially sports cars. He was also a very proficient semi-truck driver, who ran his own trucking company for many years. He spent many hour teaching those younger than him the tricks of the trade. He spent his time helping his fellow man. He would give you his last dollar if you were in need, but he hated having to ask for help. His family was very dear to him, and he enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very deeply. His family will miss him very much.
He is survived by his wife Sharrone Renee Poulsen King, children Elisha (Raymond) D Fullerton, Shanna (Michael) L O’curran, Amanda (James) K King, Peter (Lori) L King, Timothy D King, Todd (Lynn) E King, step-children Susan R Baum, LaMont W Faber, Brent R Faber, and Terrance J Faber, whom he considered his own children. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his Father William LaVaughn King Sr., mother Ada Irene Bess, sister Christeen Caroline King Chandler, and his brother William LaVaughn King Jr.
