Thomas Turner, age 78, passed away on March 4, 2025, in his home, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. On March 19, 1946, Thomas A Turner was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Violet Wohl Woods and was placed for adoption. His name on the birth certificate was Peter Woods.
On August 8, 1946, Thomas was adopted by Floyd and Aileen Turner of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Tom lived a wonderful life in Stillwater and made many lifelong friends, some of them are Trish Turner (Tom’s) first wife, Jerry Walkup, Steve Suddeth, and so many others too numerous to mention.
Tom attained a private pilots license, at age 17, obviously had “a need for speed.” He rode motorcycles and loved fast sports cars. And always drove too fast.
He had many traveling adventures with friends and worldwide travel for pleasure. Tom found himself working worldwide as a Geothermal Engineer and was a pioneer in the development of equipment. Tom was a top authority within the Geothermal Engineering world.
After his parents passed, Tom began his search for his birth mother. In the fall of 2000, he found his birth mother, Violet Redwine and his sister, Minnie Byers. It was a heartful reunion which he and his family enjoyed. Twenty plus years building happy memories with instant and deep love.
Minnie and Violet’s family grew very close to Tom and saw him through health issues and now his passing.
Tom is survived by his sister, Minnie Byers, and many friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his birth mother, Violet Wohl Redwine. His parents, Floyd and Aileen Turner, and his beloved late wife DeAnn Turner.
Tom will be remembered for his intelligence, kind heart, his big smile, and sense of humor.
Tom will be forever fondly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy will live on through his remaining family and lifelong friends.
