Thomas Lorin Howard

October 12, 1947 — January 21, 2025

North Logan

Thomas Lorin Howard, at the age of 77, left this earth on January 21st, 2025 from his home in Logan, Utah to reunite with loved ones gone before him. He was born on October 12th, 1947 in Logan, Utah to loving parents Lorin Pack Howard and Lula Andrews. He will be missed but not forgotten.

During his seventy-seven years, he touched many lives. Thomas served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina. He received his BA in English Literature and his MA in Applied Linguistics from Brigham Young University. Thomas went on to obtain a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School. From there, Thomas was accepted into the FBI and later returned to practicing law. He lived in many places including California, Tonga, Arizona, New Jersey, Florida, and Colorado but found his way back to the family and mountains he loved in Utah. He began a private practice in Park City, Utah with his dearest friend and wife of 24 years, Sylvia. Thomas was passionate about helping others and served as an addiction recovery missionary in his later years.

Thomas cherished the arts and saw beauty in the world around him. He was an accomplished violinist and artist. He loved drawing, painting, poetry, and music. Thomas found a kindred spirit when he met his wife Sylvia, and together they made their corner of earth a beautiful place for others through art, music and celebrations. They go on now, reunited, to create on a grander scale.

Thomas is survived by his three siblings Kathylene (Glen) Jenson, John Paul (Marianne) Howard, and Jan Louise Howard; his children Mary Noelle (Kyle) Waterman and Aaron David Howard (Sam); his seven stepchildren Melinda (Tom) Crawford, Bodey (Jaralynn) Quick, Alex (Hugh) Barker, Michelle (Keith) Booth, Benjamin Quick, Monique (Mike) Leake, and Justin Quick; as well as treasured grandchildren.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Morrell, and his parents Lorin and Lula Howard.
