Thomas Gary “Gert” Collins

January 5, 1938 — March 1, 2018

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, age 80, passed away into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on March 1, 2018, at his home.
Gary was born on 1-5-1938 to Harold Neil Collins and Blanche Winn in Park City, Utah.
Gary loved his wife, kids and grandkids with every ounce of his being. He graced this world with love, care, dignity, kindness and respect for all. Connie was the light and love of his life, as well as his children Gary, Christine and grandchildren Candace, Kameron, Shannon and Kolton. We will always treasure his memory until we all see him again.
Gert was known for his beautiful voice in his amazing Country Western band “Country Three Plus One”. The band included his brother Jay P. Heward, Gary D. Collins, Frank Smith and Larry Holt. They won several music contests throughout the years, played at the Utah State Fair, and the band was actually the opening act at the Terrace Ballroom for Hank Thompson. The band played at the Elks and Eagles Clubs in Utah, as well as many cities in Nevada and Wyoming.
Gary was very well respected and loved in the Truck Equipment community where he worked as a Service Manager for many years. He helped a lot of people in his field in many ways and gave them countless opportunities.
Gary is survived by his wife Connie Sweeney Collins; his children Gary D. Collins (Connie); Christine Collins Larsen (Kendall); his grandchildren Candace Lyn Larsen, Shannon Michelle Collins, Kameron Thomas Larsen (Sarah); Kolton Erroll Larsen (Sara); Sisters; Colleen McGuire, Wanda McDonald, Jeanette Petersen, and Valerie Cochran (Jim), with special loving thanks to Bonita Jones.
Preceded in death by his parents Blanche Winn and Harold Neil Collins; siblings Neil, Jay, JoAnn, and Wayne, as well as his brother in laws Mac McGuire, Pete Petersen, Bob Kaign, and Alton Street.
