Thelma Lindsay

November 7, 1928 — April 9, 2022

Thelma Lindsay was a caring, loving sister, aunt, friend and second mother to many. She passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the age of 93. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with her beautiful smile.
She was born on November 7, 1928 to Albert and Ruth Frantz in Park City, Utah. Thelma was the oldest of eight children. She attended schools in Park City and enjoyed many extra-curricular activities, including cheerleader at “dear Old Park High”. When she wasn’t cheering on the teams at Park High, you could find her waiting tables at Pop Jenks.
Thelma married the love of her life, Keith “Dude” Lindsay on February 14, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, March 15, 1950. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many auxiliary callings. Not being blessed with children of their own, they loved each of their many nieces and nephews as if they were their own.
Thelma worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Park City, first as a switch board operator, back in the day when you picked up your telephone receiver and were greeted by a pleasant voice “number please”. As technology took over, she worked in the business office and retired in 1982. After retirement, she and Dude relocated to Salt Lake City.
The past three years she lived in assisted living, where she enjoyed making new friends and received tender loving care. The family wants to send a very special thank you to all who took care of her, especially these past few months. She loved and appreciated all of you.
Thelma is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Murnin (Worland, Wyoming), and Donna Reimer (Pueblo, Colorado). She leaves behind her loving companion; her poodle, Angel. Thelma’s many nieces, nephews, greats and great-greats will miss this beautiful Auntie. We love you.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters: Louise Burgener, RaNae Martinez, Karen Woolstenhulme, Colleen Frantz, and her brother Gary Frantz.
