Terry Lacoy Graham
March 12, 1940 — June 27, 2016
On June 27th, Terry LaCoy Graham, husband, father, uncle, and friend passed away at his home with his family by his side. Throughout his life, Terry always put the needs of others before his own and was an amazing example of love and kindness.
Terry was born on March 12th, 1940, in Salt Lake City to Della and Verge Graham. Terry grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from West High School. Terry joined the Air Force, Air National Guard, in January 1962 and served for 38 years. During this time, he received numerous awards and commendations. Before his full time military career, Terry worked for Safeway from 1959 to 1988. After retiring from the guard, he worked an additional 10 years for the State of Utah in the unclaimed property division.
Terry met his sweetheart Kay in the 15th ward church youth group. They dated for four years and were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1966. Terry was very excited to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1st, but unfortunately passed away five days shy of the 1st.
Terry is a member of the LDS Church and during his life served in many different positions. Terry loved the gospel, his Heavenly Father, and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Terry loved all types of sports, and was a great baseball catcher and bowler, but most of all Terry loved spending time with family and friends.
Terry is survived by his wife Kay, children: Todd, Tammy, Jody Wells (Larry), and many nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and his only grandbaby, Sam, a black Labrador retriever, whom he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1st at 11:00 in the Poplar Grove Ward, 1401 W. 700 South in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 30th at the church from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. Interment will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park.Service Information
