Taniela Vaisa Maile
November 18, 1934 — August 16, 2019
Our beloved Taniela Vaisa Maile, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:15 AM in his home. He was born on November 18, 1934 in Nukunuku, Tongatapu, Tonga to the late Sione Vaisa & Meleane Fusi Latu. He married his beautiful wife Meleseini Kona’i Maile on February 12, 1955. They have 9 children. Sione(Seilose) Faulao, Velema (Tevita-deceased) Vola, Frank (Talamasina) Maile, Ana (Faitangane) Vaenuku, Meleane (Sione) Taufa, ‘Akesiu (Steven-deceased) Fulilangi, Leimoni (Sefilina) Maile, Naina Maile-deceased, and Holakimuli (Viliami) Tahi. In 2001 his dearly beloved Meleseini Kona’i passed away. On April 4, 2002 he then remarried to his beautiful wife Maryan Maile. He then gained 2 more children, Pelenaise (Fe’ofa’aki) ‘Aho, Viliami Maile-deceased. Altogether Taniela had 59 grandkids, 119 great-grandkids, 5 great-great-grandkids.
Taniela dedicated his life to the things he loved the most which were his family and his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was definitely a very strong and humble man of God. His faithfulness in the gospel led him to be a strong instrument in the Lord’s hands as he fulfilled every calling to the fullest. He took every opportunity he had to be of service to others. His greatest moments were shared with his unconditional love for his wife, children and grandchildren. One of the greatest blessings he was able to share was being able to seal so many wonderful families in the temple for all time and eternity! Although we’re going to miss him dearly but as we understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ we know that families can be together forever if we all do our part and that we will see him again. We are grateful as a family to him for all the sacrifices he made to raise and protect his family both physically and spiritually. Because of him we are a blessed family of many things! Especially blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his own words, “you are never poor with the gospel in your life.” We love you so much Grandpa Taniela!
He is preceded in death by his lovely wife Meleseini, his daughter Naina, his parents Sione Vaisa and Meleane, and his siblings Tupou, Lopeti, Naina, Tamasese, Sameloki, Lineti, Sela, and Heikoti.
Funeral services will held on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84123. Viewing 8:00-10:30 Bishop’s program 11-12 and interment will follow.Service Information
