Sylvia Pickens

Sylvia Ruth Pickens, wife, mother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully July 27, 2014 in Canon City, Colorado. She was born December 31, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas to Anna Marie & James Clyde Hendricks. She married Loren William Gregg on December 31, 1960 and had 1 daughter; Gina Marie Gregg. She was married to James E. Pickens February 27, 1999 in a private ceremony on the beautiful Island of Maui.
Sylvia received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She worked at the University of Utah Medical Center for 17 years and then assisted her husband James, with his medical practice for over 20 years. She was also an accomplished poet and photographer. Sylvia had a very sweet disposition and was always willing to assist others. She was a wonderful example to her family, associates and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 E 7800 S, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.mountainviewmortuary.com
