Sylvia Inez Stephens Anderson

Sylvia Inez Stephens Anderson, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 76 passed away January 16, 2016.  She was born June 27, 1939 in Lakeside Arizona the daughter of Kermit S. Stephens and Emma Inez Fish.  She and her two sisters Stephanie and Lisa (deceased) were raised in a loving home in Monterey Park, California.  She graduated from the Alhambra High School and later attended Brigham Young University where she met her husband and eternal companion Ronald Benson Anderson.  They were married on September 10, 1959 in the Los Angeles Temple.  They resided through the 56 years of their married life in Provo, Utah, Downey, California and Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was a devoted lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in various church callings.
She was an excellent full time homemaker and loving mother who made sure that bother her family’s temporal and spiritual needs were met.  She led a selfless life, wanting very little of personal material things and never saying an unkind word about anyone.  Her life was devoted to making a comfortable and happy environment for her husband and children.  She loved family history and performed temple work for her ancestors and loving documented her family’s activities through the years.  She had a beautiful voice and when younger sang in many trios and choirs.  She performed the lead roll in her high school   play and wrote the scripts for ward road shows.  She left a living legacy that her family will cherish forever.
She is the mother of five children, Stephen Ronald (Tammy) Anderson, South Jordan, Utah Alan Benson Anderson (Deceased), Bryan Kent (Michelle) Anderson, Salt Lake City, Utah, Niel “K” Anderson (deceased) Michele Kay (Darrin) Anderson, Rocklin, California.  She has seven grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East in Murray, Utah on Friday evening January 22, 2016 from 7:00 till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11-00 a.m. at the Revere Chapel located at 981 East Revere Circle (985 East 5555 South) in Salt Lake City, Utah. With a viewing at the chapel from 9:45 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 east 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
