Suzanne Dee Smith

May 7, 1968 — January 4, 2021

Our loving sister, aunt, daughter, and friend passed away unexpectedly in her home on January 4, 2021 following a short illness. She was undoubtedly surrounded by her angel parents and angel sisters who were waiting to welcome her home.
Suzanne Dee Smith was born on May 7, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the daughter of Gordon Nathaniel Smith and Joann DeHaan Smith. She attended Cottonwood High School and the University of Utah, and later graduated from The Utah School of Massage Therapy. She served an honorable mission for her church from 1989-1990. She was initially assigned to the Philippines and then concluded her mission in San Diego, California. In the years following her mission she lived in Holladay UT, bought her first home in Riverton, UT, and then built her dream home in South Jordan, UT. She touched many lives and acquired numerous friends along the way.
Suzanne became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1994. After working at Snowbird, she started her own business, Health Connections. She owned and operated an extremely successful practice for 27 years. She was blessed with the gift of touch and healing and she freely gave of that gift to anyone in need. Those who walked through her doors walked out feeling better in body and in soul. She had the rare ability to make those around her feel significant, valued, and safe. Suzanne had many clients who, after the first hour with her, became lifelong friends. She sincerely loved them all.
Suzanne loved life. She opened her heart to many, and loved to serve those around her. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings. She had a valiant testimony and a deep abiding love for our Savior. She faced challenges with courage and with prayer and always rose above any hardship that came her way, no matter how difficult. She loved those she served, and she served everyone she met. She will be remembered as a courageous and dedicated daughter of God.
Suzanne had an endearing joviality that always inspired a laugh. With her unquenchable zest for life, Suzanne found beauty everywhere. She loved nature and the beauties of the earth. She had a talent and passion for photography and was always ready to capture an amazing sunset, flower, mountain scene, rainbow, or whatever moved her. Any photograph she took was spectacular.
Suzanne loved her family more than anything on this earth. She often said, “Family is everything,” and that was evident in all that she did. She loved her grandparents, parents, and siblings, and had a special place in her heart for every niece and nephew. Her friends became family to her, and her sweet puppy Lilo was her baby girl. She loved deeply, and in turn, all adored her. It was important to her that she connect with each of her loved ones in a sincere and authentic way. Indeed, they were everything to her.
Suzanne, you touched our lives in so many ways. You will be remembered for your humor, kindness, unconditional love, and for your unwavering faith. You will be in our hearts forever. We love you.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her adored sisters Annette Smith Hill and Jodee Smith. She leaves behind her siblings, David (Elizabeth) Smith, (Russ Hill), Paul (Diane) Smith, Lori (Steven) Pantuso, Andrew (Marilee) Smith, Timothy (Toni) Smith, and many nieces and nephews, her best friend, Jill Durrant, and her fur baby, Lilo.
