Susan Edith Olson Ritter

On April 20, 2022, Susan Edith Olson Ritter, 72, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on December 11, 1949 to her parents Jerri and Marshall Olson. Susan attended and
graduated from Granite High School in 1967. Shortly after, she met and married Michael Thomas Ritter
on February 21, 1969. Michael and Susan had a son, Michael C. Ritter, whom they loved dearly.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and was most happy when she was surrounded by her
loved ones. She was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Susan had a soft spot in her heart
for animals and it made her so happy to be with all of the pets in her lite.
Susan is survived by her brothers, M. Scott Olson of Rock Island IL, Chad R. Olson of Salt Lake City UT,
Dave D. Olson (Sharyl) of St. George UT, her son Michael C. Ritter of King man AZ, niece Tawni Smith (Jason)
of St. George UT, nephews Kory Olson of Moroni UT and Jared Olson of Costa Mesa CA. She was also a Great
Aunt and loved getting visits from Stella, Saylor, Sloane and Romney Smith.
The family would like to thank the many health care workers who spent time caring for Susan over the
years. A special thanks to her nurse Jen at Bristol Hospice, her social worker Alan at Valley Mental Health,
and her nurses Annette and Vicky at the Valley Woods Apartments Lite Care Center. Also, a very sincere
and heartfelt thank you to her brother Chad for taking over as her primary guardian after their mother
died in 2016. We are beyond grateful for his gift of service in helping Susan live her best life.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary with a viewing
beginning at 9:00am and the graveside services beginning at 11:00am.
