Sue P Morgan

January 16, 1938 — May 22, 2017

Our precious wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Sue P. Morgan, returned home to our Heavenly Father on May 22, 2017. She was born to Edward J Powell and Susie Eldona Cook, on January 16, 1938. She married John Jerrold McKean on June 5, 1955; they later divorced. She married her eternal companion and love of her life, Kent E Morgan, on March 13, 1992 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were sealed by Kent’s father, Edward Evan Morgan.
Sue was a friend to everyone and her door was always open. She dedicated her life to serving others. There were many who sat by her side and listened to her stories and loving advice. She loved gardening and everyone enjoyed her cooking, beautiful roses and homemade jam from her peach trees. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many positions including Relief Society President twice and in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. She served a mission with her sweetheart in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Salt Lake Community College where she served as student body president.
Sue started doing family history work at the age of 17 and became an accomplished professional genealogist.  She founded and owned her own company—Research International. She was asked to be a member of Who’s Who in Genealogy multiple times, but humbly declined each offer. Sue was also commissioned to research the ancestry of many of the world’s notable celebrities and business people, including John Wayne, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope, Richard Pryor, Cheryl Ladd, Alex Haley, and Billy Casper. She loved to write and touched the lives of many through her beautiful stories.

Sue is survived by her husband Kent E. Morgan, seven children; Debbie Walker (Rocky), Pixie Calderwood (Kerry), Doug McKean (Melanie), Jani Thomas, Jill Westergard (Val), Michelle McKean, and Jerry McKean (Mandy), and her five stepsons; Mark Morgan (Susie), Mike Morgan (Susan), Scott Morgan, Marty Morgan (Lydia), and Max Morgan (Becky). She is also survived by her brother Jay Powell (Neva) and her sister Rosalie Jennings. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who love her very much. She is preceded in death by her grandson Connor Calderwood, son in law Scott Thomas, and stepson Mathew Morgan (Bonz), and her little dog, Toots.
We would like to thank the many family, friends and caregivers who have lovingly cared for her this last year.  A special thanks to CNS hospice for their support.
We love and miss you Sue and are looking forward to being together again!
