Steven Jones

Steven Delroy Jones – born the 1st of November, 1939 to Don Carlos and Lucy Stevenson Jones – left this world for another on the 14th of this month, which happens to be the 55th anniversary of the best day of his life.
Steve was a fiercely loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He gave everything he did 200% and could not understand any other way of doing things! It only makes sense that an intense, incredibly fast-acting cancer is what took him from us.
Steve believed in and was the perfect example of hard work, but he also played just as hard. Until very recently he could still be found fixing roofs, on top of scaffolding, digging fence posts through concrete, playing basketball with guys half his age, or playing blue birds with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Keith, with whom we are sure he has been happily reunited; his parents; his little sister, Donna; a great-grandson, Jimmy; and many, many friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Emily; sons Robert (Cynthia), Calvin, and Dean Russell; daughters Lora (Jim) Sorensen, Cathy (Chris) Goss, and Claire (Kim) Jones, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and many more friends.
There will be a viewing held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday July 17, 2015 and again from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday morning before the funeral in his honor. Services will be held at 4220 Jeannine Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84107.
