Steven G. Graff

July 14, 1944 — June 25, 2021

Steven G. Graff passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021 at his home in Murray, UT after having spent the day visiting with family and playing with his grandson Avenn.
Steven was born in Murray, UT to Ted and Jane Graff, together with his brothers Terry, Tom, Dave, Bruce, and Paul.
Steven is survived by his children Ken, Janae, Allen, Michael, Maribeth, Spencer and their spouses. Also, his grandchildren Kacie, Tiffany, Parker, Alex, Payton, Bennett, North, Palmer, Alayna, Ava, Maddox, Griffin, little Mikey, Toma, Anna, Lukas, Reicklee, and Reiken and great grandchildren Avenn, and Luna.
Steven was preceded in death by his sweetheart JaNeal, daughter Debbie, and brothers Paul and Terry.
As a young man he served a mission in the Central Mexican Mission. After his mission he returned to BYU and married his sweetheart JaNeal Nelson Graff and the two of them had seven children (Ken, Janae, Allen, Debbie, Michael, Maribeth, and Spencer). He studied Zoology, Chemistry, and Spanish and played the bass fiddle in the BYU Symphony Orchestra. Steven graduated from Saint Louis University as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He spent 12 years in the US Navy where he then became an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He finished the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He and his family moved to Sandy, UT where he established his Oral Surgery practice.
Steven loved to serve in the church and other ways. Whether as a missionary, a bishop, a temple ordinance worker, on medical missions to Central America, using his dental practice to help those in need, or in the armed forces he loved to serve his “fellow man” as the Savior commanded. Steven was a great example of someone who has a strong testimony and does not hesitate to share it. Steven said: “I appreciate the deep love of the Savior to volunteer to come to earth as the innocent sacrificial Lamb of God to make the great atoning sacrifice for our sins to satisfy the demands of justice for the penitent, teach us eternal law that was established before the foundations of the earth upon which all blessings are predicated (D&C 130: 20, 21), including the laws of the kingdoms including the Celestial Kingdom, and is laboring with His might to prepare us to return into the presence of the Father. The Savior has received and accepted the responsibility of the eternal welfare of his brethren and sisters in preparing them for the highest Kingdom (D&C 84: 43-60). The Spirit of God has witnessed to me that the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ contains the inspired words of Christ given by himself and by his holy prophets through the Holy Spirit testifying that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world. His atonement was not just Gethsemane and the cross. It encompasses His whole life and very being, from the beginning and is forever. He was totally faithful as the Messiah and Anointed One, fulfilled all the laws and prophesies pertaining hereto, made and performed all the sacrifices necessary for our salvation and showed us the loving character of the Father in himself. I know with all my heart that what He taught is true. The truth of it all burns in my bosom and thrills me to the center. I love the feeling of the Holy Spirit testifying to me the truth of what I learn of Him, His teachings, what he has done and what He is trying to do for each of us.”
