Steven David Barton (aka Didder) died on March 29, 2021, in a loving environment in his home in Taylorsville, Utah from health complications discovered after back surgery. He was born on September 8, 1946, in Ogden, Utah to Max and Doris Stevenson Barton. Steve was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, veteran, and friend. He was very patriotic and excelled as an avid fly fisherman, fly tier, gardener, software engineer, Ute fan, scoutmaster, and youth basketball coach. Didder loved spending quality time with family, teaching kids, riding motorcycles, doing anything outdoors, telling great stories, and making friends along the way.
Steve is survived by his wife Patti, his sons Kyle (Kathryn) and Nicholas (Morgan), estranged daughter Stephanie, as well as Patti’s children John (Nicole) Charles, Kim (Aaron) Silver, Kristi (Spencer) Higginson. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren: Jacob, Grace, Lillian, William, Nora, Lucas, McKenna, Keeley, Kyan, Olivia, Van, Finn, Spencer, Luke, Ben, Lila, Andrew, and Charlie. Lastly, he is survived by his siblings Sherman (Paula), Shauna (Tim) Carrig, Alan (Laurie), Logan (Terri), Morris, Richard (Teresa), and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Linda (Bill) Murray.
